Marketing and Applications Scientist

This is an great opportunity for the right person to significantly contribute to the success of a fast-growing start-up while educating customers about our novel assays for detecting harmful pathogens and assisting with cancer research.
This position requires good scientific knowledge along with the desire to help us get the word out about our technology and products.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Help define go-to-market strategies for our unique molecular assays in a variety of markets - from cancer diagnostics to clinical pathogen detection and more! This will include segmentation, targeting, positioning and messaging
Applications support, business development and consultative selling (we can train you if needed)
Conduct in-depth research to understand customer needs and identify new market opportunities to support campaign creations
Utilize direct knowledge of customers and competitors to identify target customer segments and create differentiated value propositions and key messages
Develop and execute marketing campaigns to drive demand for new and existing products; translate programs into tactical marketing plans and execute through development of sales tools & other marketing materials
Assist with creating marketing content, including social media, web, video and print; achieve agreed upon results for key initiatives
Staying up-to-speed with the technology and applications
Creatively prospecting for new accounts in a variety of industries
Education/Qualifications:
Minimum of a BS in chemistry, biology, or related scientific field
Strong people skills
A desire to help customers discover our unique solutions that improve their lives and those of their patients and community
Strong ability to learn is required
Effective oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills
Strong part-time applicants will be considered
Experience:
Requires 1-2 years of scientific experience relevant to the technical area of responsibility
Experience in the clinical space or water industry a plus, but not required
Desired:
RT-PCR or ddPCR, preferred but not required
Experience with genomics, NGS (next generation sequencing), molecular diagnostics, and/or pathology/ immunohistochemistry.
Experience with biotech/pharma and/or pharma service providers is highly valued.
