Research Assistant

The Research Assistant position will be responsible for executing scientific research in the laboratory specifically related to cancer and pathogen detection. This is also an great opportunity to work directly on real-world biotech applications in cancer, clinical pathology and wastewater epidemiology.

If desired, this position does have the opportunity to work with end users by introducing them to our technology and applying it to their applications. (We will provide training if needed.)

Job Responsibilities

  • Organize, conduct, and evaluate analytical results and testing

  • Quantify viral RNA using droplet digital PCR / RT-qPCR

  • Maintain study documentation and laboratory records

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives

  • Opportunities to expand your experience in R&D/Oncology work or in technical support/sales

Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science/Arts (BS/BA) degree in chemistry, biology, or related scientific field.

  • This is a hands on position

  • Strong ability to learn is required

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Organizational skills

  • Must be able to work in a laboratory setting.

  • Ability to work flexible shifts

Experience:

  • Requires 2-5 years of scientific experience relevant to the technical area of responsibility

  • Experience performing RT-PCR or ddPCR, preferred but not required

  • Experience in BSL-2 work, preferred by not required

  • Experience in industry a plus, but not required
